At 16, Ada prefers books to ball gowns and dreads the byzantine formalities of the upcoming social season she'd rather convince her father to let her attend Oxford than find a husband. What is it, exactly, that transforms mere wealth into an asset that automatically creates more wealth? The Code of Capital explains how capital is created behind closed doors in the offices of private attorneys, and why this little-known fact is one of the biggest reasons for the widening wealth gap between the holders of capital and everybody else. “Capital is the defining feature of modern economies, yet most people have no idea where it actually comes from. But literally from the first episode, the show makes some really dramatic departures from the true story that’s told in the book. I gave them permission to use my first name. You know, obviously the grounding point for that character, sort of the offense and you know, obviously the demographics are the same and the first name is the same.
